Iceland – shooting four days on the south coast

So Thailand was next after Nepal like you saw here already. But there was one week in between where I (Roman) went to Iceland for work. And this was as crazy as it sounds.

Samsung was launching a new outdoor focused smartwatch and needed exclusive images for their marketing campaign. I was part of a team of five to create the photos. In addition to that I was asked to film some behind the scenes footage too.

We didn’t get lucky with the weather and it literally did rain the whole time we were in Iceland. It was quite challenging for our camera gear as well as for our cloths. But we got the moody images we were after and also the video footage. It’s always fun going on a trip with my Germanroamers friends. Each of them brings a good amount of humor but also professionalism to the tabel.

Due the lack of time we couldn’t really go far on the island. We focused on the south coast and went from Reykjavik all the way to Höfn. We had four days to shoot and went to locations like Skogafoss, Seljalandsfoss, Dyrhólaey Arch, Black Sand Beach, Fjaðrárgljúfur and Jökulsárlón. But that was enough to convince me that I have to go back and stay a little longer next time…
